Destiny 2: Traveler's Chosen Sidearm

An exotic sidearm I created for Destiny 2. I made this for the original Destiny 2 campaign and brought it back as a light-powered weapon for Season of Arrivals. Final blows grant stacks of light, which the player observes by the growing rays of light on the weapon, and eventually, the glowing logo when the perk hits its maximum amount of stacks. The scope UI also includes a visual light stack counter to help the player better decide when to cash in on their light. I enjoyed designing all of these aspects of the weapon.

Original concept by Joseph Cross. I designed the light-powered version.

I built the light rays starting with a template created by the FX team and dialed up their intensity with each killing blow. I designed the scope UI to help the player keep count of their stacks of light and ammo.

The outer "light rays" in the scope UI light up with each killing blow. The inner blue bar is an ammo indicator.
